Ester Avero, PA
OB/GYN in South Miami
Ester Avero was born in Madrid, Spain, and raised in the vibrant city of Miami. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in History from the University of Miami. She later went on to graduate in 2019 from Barry University with her Masters in Clinical Medical Science and Physician Assistant Certificate (PA).
Prior to practicing in obstetrics and gynecology, Ester worked as a Physician Assistant at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Family Medicine where her commitment to preventive medicine began. Working with a diverse and underserved patient population, she was able empower her patients through education and work together to provide patient- centered care. She then began concurrently practicing in obstetrics and gynecology, further developing her experience in prenatal/ postpartum care, gynecological wellness, and reproductive health.
Dedicated to working with the next generation of healthcare providers, Ester also serves as an adjunct lab professor at Barry University’s Physician Assistant Program. She has served as clinical preceptor for Physician Assistant students from Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, she is involved in the Association of PAs in OBGYN and serves as the Education Committee Co-Chair, helping to organize instructional webinars for their members. She is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as the American Association of Physician Associates.
Ester is passionate about providing compassionate and thorough care to her patients, throughout every stage of their lives. Her special interests include adolescent medicine, prenatal care and contraceptive management. She strives to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where every patient feels heard and valued.
Outside of work, Ester enjoys actively participating in community service events, pilates and reading. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
